Opening day of the Washington State 2024 duck season was last Saturday. It has been unseasonably dry and hot, with temperatures in the 80s, so not a lot of ducks around. Mack & I got one young Mallard drake, but it was great to be out in the field again.
Mack was excited to be back in the field.
Not much water for the decoys, but I was able to get a few out.
Big Mack taking a rest while we waited out the hot afternoon.
This Whitetail buck walked right by my blind.
This little bird kept busy chasing bugs around the blind.
Mack made a great retrieve in some really thick bushes for this young Mallard drake.
